The fashion industry moves fast! Sure it’s cold outside, but it’s spring in the fashion world. Designers showed their collections during fashion week and buyers bought these collections in September 2011, and already the Fall showings are planned for February 2012. What’s my point? If you want to buy anything else for this winter season, you’d better act fast! Unlike what’s in the stores right now, the Carlisle Collection  still has an amazing selection of fall and winter clothes in all sizes. You’ll be able to create beautiful, complete outfits. BUT…Carlisle moves in the same  fashion as the rest of the industry and the Fall and Holiday collections will only be available through Tuesday, January 24, 2012. If you’ve been chomping at the bit to see the  spring trends, the spring collection will be available at the on line Carlisle boutique on Thursday, January 26, 2012. Anyone who has lived in Colorado for very long knows that the weather changes nearly every day in March. As optimistic as we want to be, we also know that it will likely snow at least a few more times—in between our 60 degree days. All of these changes make it very difficult to plan our spring wardrobes and to know exactly when to shop for spring. As a wardrobe consultant and personal stylist, I work with professional women who need both professional clothing and business casual clothing. For both of these categories, I highly recommend shopping early in the spring season, March though April. You’ll notice that many of this season’s trends seem to be casual or business casual. If you have a business casual dress code at your office, now is the time to find some great upgrades to your wardrobe. One of the new trends in nail polish for the spring and summer season (okay, I don't see why now is a problem,) is Taupe. I love this as an option for professional dress. It's a little brown; it's a little gray; and it's certainly not bright and distracting. And a huge advantage is that it is quite neutral, so it's as versatile as a French manicure, but more interesting. There are all shades of taupe available. Choose one that best flatters your skin tone. What do you think? Will you give taupe nails a go?
